Bodhráns
All Bodhráns in our shop are made by Christian Hedwitschak. He made his way to the top of the Champions League in the last few years and proofs since 2001 and after more than 2000 drums made that building bodhráns is a lot more than just attaching a skin to a frame. His drums are in high demand by top class players all over the world.
It's with him that I developed a Signature Line model with smooth toolless tuning system and a special treated skin (Lambegskin from the North of Ireland), which is my favourite drum for the last couple of years: The RWE=Rolf Wagels Edition.
But Christian Hedwitschak is not building drums only for the high end sector, but he also provides a with a drum for starter (LightLine) and a drum line for upcoming professionals with a small budget, the BasicLine. The BasicLine comes as a special edition for bodhran-info with a black and green ribbon instead of the usual nylon free of charge!
Especially the starter line LightLine sports a sensational value for money with prices starting at 125€. They are a real playable alternative to all the drums produced under questionable circumstances in the Far East.
All drums by Christian are made of raw materials produced in Europe and he has full control over his sources.
Tippers and Hotrods
Some of the Tippers are also made by Christian, some models especially for us. Also exclusively available on bodhran-info are the Snakewood Tipper made to my specifications on the Orkney Islands. The Hotrods are made by Ralf Siepmann from Hamburg.
