Eamon Murray

Eamon Murray is one of Ireland’s most exciting bodhrán players, hailing from Randalstown, Co. Antrim.
A multiple champion, he claimed the All-Ireland bodhrán title four times, earning recognition early on as a prodigious talent.
He has performed with renowned artists such as Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin and Liam O’Maonlai, and is best known as a founding member of the innovative Irish band Beoga, who later gained global attention through collaborations with Ed Sheeran.
Respected maker as well as player, he co-developed the “EMsig” signature bodhrán with Christian Hedwitschak — featuring Lambeg skin and a unique 5-point tuning system designed for power and precision.
Dedicated to teaching, he runs Bite-size Bodhrán, a platform of short tutorials and insights drawn from over 20 years of playing and teaching.
Praised for his drive, groove, and creativity, Murray has been called “the future of bodhrán playing” by Johnny McDonagh of De Dannan.

"Here’s my signature line tipper/stick/thing ye hit with! Made by Stevie Moises it’s the business! We had a few goes at it and this is the finished product. The grip suits all styles, which was important when we were developing it. I find myself using it more and more these days, for sessions and for around 90% of the gigs that I’m doing.
